What we do

The aim of the community connector is to reduce loneliness and isolation and improve wellbeing, through supporting people to engage in community activities or learning.
Connectors empower people by giving them information and advice. They visit people in their own homes so they can really get to know them.

They can help people achieve what matters to them. They can reconnect people to their communities by introducing them to new social groups; introduce people to a new hobby or help them to volunteer in their community. They can signpost individuals to the most appropriate service to help them meet their needs.
With regard to groups and organisations, community connectors can help them to find venues or volunteers to help run them.

Connectors also help communities develop, grow and become more self sufficient by building relationships with key people and connecting them to each other. They can work with communities to identify any gaps in provision and help to fill those gaps.

Who do we support

Adults over the age of 18 who are lonely, socially isolated and are looking for groups and activities that they can join. Adults who are looking to improve their wellbeing by engaging and connecting with their communities.
